Hydropower Appreciation Day in Monroe

Water is our power!

Join us in celebrating Hydropower Day at the Snohomish PUD. Did you know that as a PUD customer, the electricity that powers your home is over 97% carbon-free? This is largely due to the wonders of hydropower. The PUD gets about 80% of its power from hydroelectric projects. While you are likely familiar with the larger dams you might find on the Columbia River, a portion of that comes from smaller hydroelectric projects like the one at the Woods Creek Sustainability Center.

Reservations are required. This event filled up quickly last year, reserve your spot today!

Richard & Nancy Wendt Award of Excellence
The Richard & Nancy Wendt Award of Excellence is given annually to a person or organization that has demonstrated outstanding support of the arts throughout their lifetime. The award is named for Dr. Richard Wendt, who passed away in 2007, and his wife Nancy Wendt, who passed away in the spring of 2021. Following Nancy’s death, the decision was made by the Cultural Arts Commission – with the support of Richard and Nancy’s daughters – to rename the award to include Nancy’s name. From here forward, this lifetime achievement award will be known as the Richard and Nancy Wendt Award of Excellence to honor the legacy of these two remarkable people.

Mayors Arts Awards
The Mayor's Arts Awards recognize the many ways a vibrant arts community is created and sustained. Each year, the Cultural Arts Commission gives out several Mayor's Arts Awards to people or organizations that have made Everett a better place through their creative efforts, vision, or patronage.

We meet on the last Friday of every month from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. This is a circle for women and is open to anyone who identifies as a woman.

About your Facilitator:
Angie McAllister, Spiritual Life Coach and Evidential Medium works with the Law of Attraction and Spirit as she helps others rediscover their resonance with Source and Universal Energy. After spending years in mainstream psychology, she no longer works within these confines understanding that by diagnosing you can block others in the limits of their diagnosis. She now intuitively works with Source, Spirit Guides, and the Akashic Records to identify and heal the blocks, patterns, and beliefs that have slowed your spiritual growth. She helps you understand and heal your shadow aspects, allowing you to have a more balanced and abundant life. Reminding you that you have divine intuitive power and have all but forgotten. She guides you in remembering how to use the Law of Attraction and your Emotional Guidance System to learn, evolve, and co-create. Wednesday Minfulness Meditation

  • Everett Unity Center for Positive Living (map)

Lonnie Dalrymple, Mindfulness Meditation Instructor, former board member, and congregant of Everett Unity will be teaching a weekly  Mindfulness Meditation class. Your generous love offering is gratefully accepted.

DATE: Every Wednesdays
TIME: 12:00-1:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Church Social Hall

We will discuss the proven benefits of a mindfulness practice and learn the basic structure of Mindfulness Meditation. You will learn how to practice Mindfulness Meditation while sitting and walking. If you can make it to more than one class, you will have the opportunity to discuss how the previous week of practice went, share in supporting and cheering for each other and their progress through this experience. We will continue to add to the information each week so you will have a good foundation for your own practice and growth.

About the instructor.   I have been a member of Unity in Everett for at least 20 years. In October of 2021 I began an intensive five-month training to become a certified Mindfulness meditation instructor. Like many, mindfulness and mindfulness meditation has long been an interest of mine. I have done quite a bit of self-study. So, I had some threads of knowledge.  I needed a foundation to build my personal practice on and the training I received in this class gave me all that and more.

It was an amazing experience to be immersed with other students from around the world, and teachers who are well known to Mindfulness practitioners. Now I know what techniques Brain Scientists and Psychologists (and others who study the effects of Mindfulness Meditation) are talking about when instructing a group of subjects to practice  Mindfulness meditation for 30 days, etc. so they can measure the effects of the practice on our emotions, our mental health and our happiness.
