If you can make it to more than one class, you will have the opportunity to discuss how the previous week of practice went, share in supporting and cheering for each other and their progress through this experience. We will continue to add to the information each week so you will have a good foundation for your own practice and growth.

About the instructor.   I have been a member of Unity in Everett for at least 20 years. In October of 2021 I began an intensive five-month training to become a certified Mindfulness meditation instructor. Like many, mindfulness and mindfulness meditation has long been an interest of mine. I have done quite a bit of self-study. So, I had some threads of knowledge.  I needed a foundation to build my personal practice on and the training I received in this class gave me all that and more. 

It was an amazing experience to be immersed with other students from around the world, and teachers who are well known to Mindfulness practitioners. Now I know what techniques Brain Scientists and Psychologists (and others who study the effects of Mindfulness Meditation) are talking about when instructing a group of subjects to practice  Mindfulness meditation for 30 days, etc. so they can measure the effects of the practice on our emotions, our mental health and our happiness.

Join us for a Green Everett Day volunteer event on Oct. 14!

Are you interested in spending time with friends and family, meeting new people and getting out into nature? If so, join us for Green Everett Day on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023! We will be at Harborview Park, located at 1621 W. Mukilteo Blvd., from 9 - 11 a.m. working to restore urban habitats and strengthening our local community. No experience is necessary, and all tools are required! 

Volunteers under 18 are allowed and encouraged! If attending without a supervising adult/ parent/ guardian, they must bring a youth release waiver form. If you don't have a printer, please complete the form and send a copy to recreation@everettwa.gov before the event.
