Everett’s Most Polarizing Pizzaria: Beverly Pizza

Reading the reviews on Everett’s Beverly Pizza, one thing is clear: people either love or hate this place.

Located across the street from Rocko’s Fireside, the first thing to notice about Beverly Pizza is there’s a good chance you’ve never noticed it before. Tucked next to Mothership Scooters in that interesting little strip of businesses on Beverly Blvd reminiscent of a ‘last stop for 20 miles’ type of little town feel. But this quirky little hub of commerce is smack dab in the middle of Everett.

Beverly Pizza // Garret Hunt

I tried Beverly Pizza for myself a while back after catching a show at Rocko’s. I’d meant to write a story about Beverly Pizza, but some time lapsed, and all I really remembered was that it was good. It seemed fresh and quality. But not trusting my memory to fill in more vivid details, I thought I better do some online recon.

First stop: the Beverly Pizza Website

Reviewing the website, I recalled it was the Veggie Lover Specialty Pizza I’d had; with onions, tomatoes (sliced), mushrooms, bell peppers, and olives. Like I said, I liked it, and I do remember especially liking the crust. I personally prefer my tomatoes diced, but I know sliced tomatoes are certainly no stranger to pizza.

Veggie Lovers Pizza, indeed // Garret Hunt

As I glanced over the menu, I realized Beverly Pizza also serves burgers, Mexican food, and more. Wait, what? Okay, that’s sometimes a red flag. “I better check some online reviews,” I thought to myself.

It was on Yelp where the contrasting reviews shined.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 Stars, Angela D.

“Update to previous review: changed to 3 stars after trying again. I ordered veggie gyros again and they forgot the tzatziki sauce, which is necessary to make the gyros delicious. These were soooo bland I couldn't finish. The fries were old & cold...complete opposite of first review. Will try again before making final decision. Delivery was fast & my husband grubbed on the chicken parmigiana sandwich.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars, Arlene M.

“The food was amazing!!!! Best pizza in Everett! We got pepperoni and The sauce was bomb, the dough bomb, pepperoni BOMB, cheese bomb!!! Every bite had a crispy crunch, it was baked to perfection. We also got cheese bread that was delicious. Highly recommend!! The service was awesome and very friendly!”

⭐️ 1 Star, Satori F.

“This was just plain disgusting. "Choose your sauce" could have been clarified. We assumed it was a sauce on the side and the base would be tomato sauce like in any normal restaurant that has a choose sauce option, but instead got ranch all over the pizza and next to that (as a joke?) TOMATO sauce on the side to dip???? wtf... Also ordered sausage only on half of the pizza but got it dumped over the whole thing. Yea. Wouldn't recommend it even if it was the only place open.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars, Ella H.

“THE BEST EVERRRRRRR!!! I came in worried that they were gonna judge me due to me wearing a bathrobe nighttime pants and different shoes but heck no!! They made me feel like FAMILY. They accidentally made the wrong pizza but remade it in a heart beat and didn't complain. Such nice men . The pizza was amazing . We also got cheese bread wich was DELICIOUS. It was gone in seconds. would give 6 stars if i could. Hands down the best pizza spot in town and that i've ever had! My girlfriend was so excited to eat it. Cheers to a great night for my girlfriend and I. Please please please go support this business.”

Love it or hate it? // Garret Hunt

Now it was making sense to me why Beverly Pizza had a 3-star rating on Yelp overall. It seems patrons tend to either love it or hate it.

If I had to choose? Love it.

But I’ve only been the one time when I tried their pizza. So I may have to go back to investigate further.
