Meet Everett Comedy: The Monthly Show Putting Snohomish County on the Stand-Up Map

For the last four and a half years, Everett Comedy at the New (formerly “Historic”) Everett Theater has brought some of the biggest names in comedy and fastest-rising stars to Snohomish County — most for their very first time anywhere north of Seattle and south of Vancouver.

Everett Comedy has become known among comedians as one of the best monthly indie shows out west.

A NEW LIFE FOR A 125-YEAR-OLD THEATER

New owner Johnny Phan and his family spent over a year updating every nook and cranny of the 125-year-old building where the likes of Nat King Cole and Helen Keller have graced the stage (you read that right!). Now, over 500 people per show experience the laughter at a beautifully renovated New Everett Theater.

20,000 LAUGHS AND COUNTING

Founded and hosted by Everett native and professional comedian Cory Michaelis, Everett Comedy has entertained over 20,000 people, including sold-out shows with Bobcat Goldthwait, Sarah Colonna, and former local boy and rising star Dustin Nickerson, among others.

STILL TO COME IN 2026

Rounding out the 2026 season: Ryan Goodcase from Netflix (October 24), Nick Thune from The Tonight Show (Thanksgiving Eve), and Sam Miller, a finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition, on New Year’s Eve.

Tickets can be snagged at everettcomedy.com.

SKIP THE DRIVE TO SEATTLE

One thing that makes Everett Comedy special is that it brings internationally touring stand-up comedians right here to Snohomish County. In fact, it’s the only regular show in the county bringing in nationally and internationally touring headliners. That means folks don’t have to drive to Seattle, fight traffic, find parking, and question all their life choices just to see great comedy.

ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTOR

Cory Michaelis is an Everett-born stand-up comedian and host of Everett Comedy. His Dry Bar Comedy special “Bad Teacher” has racked up over 70 million views, and he’s performed across the U.S. and internationally in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Pakistan. Cory has appeared on Netflix’s Huge in France and was a finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition (which means he didn’t win). When he isn’t telling jokes, he’s on the golf course pretending not to be a comedian.
