Best of 2022: Top 6 New Businesses of the Year

Everett saw several new businesses in 2022. These six new Everett businesses were the most popular with you, our readers.

Flying Squirrel

Flying squirrel finally opened its official indoor location in the old Toys ‘R Us on Everett Mall Way. Between massive trampolines, climbing walls, drinks, food, and state-of-the-art putt putt, Flying Squirrel has something fun for everyone.

Burkett’s Home + Gifts

It was indeed sad to see J. Matheson close its doors, but Burkett’s has done an excellent Job stepping up to provide a quality local gift shop while expanding their offerings beyond women’s clothing. Whether it’s a kitchen gadget or a good gift you’re after, Burkett’s Home + Gifts have you covered.

Thank Tank Coworking

Think Tank hit the ground running in 2022, kicking off their fabulous new space with a stellar grand opening party we attended. The space and offerings are a fantastic value-add for Everett. Especially with how community-centric and collaborative Think Tank is, we’re stoked they’re here.

Enseamada Cafe

Everett has an array of food offerings from around the globe, and Enseamada reminds us there is always room for more. Serving up Filipino fusion, Enseamada’s colorful island favorites will put a smile on your face and tummy. Not to mention their Ube Pancake just may be the most vibrant-looking dish you’ll ever have the pleasure of enjoying.

Petrikor Modern General Store

Everett’s new favorite lifestyle brand, Petrikor, opened its first brick-and-mortar in 2022. The beautiful boutique carries home-good essentials to garden tools, fresh flowers, and more. All are gorgeously curated in a way that reminds you anything in life can be a work of art.

Red Chilly

Barely sneaking its way onto this list, we just shared about Red Chilly last month, as they haven’t been open long. But Downtown Everett’s only Indian and Mediterranean restaurant has been well received. After you read our story by Rachel Weatherholt, it’ll be easy to see why.

Special shout-out to Everett’s newly opened Cup and Crepe. They were just featured in ‘Our Top 5 Stories of 2022’, and they also would have made this list, making them the only story to make both lists!

Thanks for hanging with us this year and supporting Everett’s small businesses!
