Live in Everett Member Profile: Erin Webster of Caliber Home Loans

We’re super thankful to our Live in Everett Members - local organizations who have stepped up to help make Live in Everett possible. Mortgage Lender Erin Webster of Caliber Home Loans is our newest member. We checked in with her to learn about her business and what she loves about Everett.

What’s your business mission?

To help uncomplicate the mortgage process through communication and education, making the dream of homeownership a reality.

Why should people choose you? what makes you different?

My motivation comes from my drive to always be helping people and serving my community. I challenge myself to not only meet but exceed expectations for all parties involved. I take on even the most challenging of loans and give it 100%. I take on loans that others have turned down and don’t give up.

Why did you choose Everett?

I love Everett! I grew up in the area and have seen it grow and change over the years. I’m excited to be a part of everything that is going on in the community. It’s blossoming in a wonderful way and I want to be a part of that in any way I can.

What's your favorite thing about what you do?

Helping someone who never thought they could be a homeowner get their credit repaired and finances in order to buy a house. To assist a homeowner drowning in debt to refinance and pay off their bills… making a plan so that it won’t happen again.

What is the most challenging thing your organization has had to overcome?

In 2020 we shifted almost overnight to working 100% remotely. At the same time, our industry was hit with unprecedented volumes of people refinancing. Instead of faltering my team came together (virtually) and grew even stronger than before in service and communication. We surpassed even our own expectations through the past year and have a new threshold for the future as a result.

Anything you wish more locals knew about you?

I’m a local lender! When you call me, you aren’t calling some call center in New York. I live in your community and work with you.

Your most important values?

My work ethic, my family and my community spirit.

Favorite thing you've done to give back to the community?

My husband and I love volunteering at the Everett Recovery Café, in any capacity we can. From cooking once a month in the old space to ice cream socials or hosting fundraisers. The Everett Recovery Café’s mission of “Radical Hospitality” and creating a safe place for individuals to heal and recover together is something we support.

For every loan closed, I donate $100 to a local food bank

What can Everett expect from you in the future?

More community involvement. I’m always looking for more ways to get involved to help the community. I recently discovered a movement called Punks in the Park - these are artists who are doing great things in the community…I’m hoping to join that movement.

What's your favorite thing about Everett?

The views, hands down. No matter which direction you look we have breathtaking views.

Favorite place to eat in Everett?

It’s impossible to pick just one. Having an office right downtown gives me the privilege of frequenting some of the best restaurants Everett has to offer. If I MUST choose one, I would have to pick The Irishman. It’s every comfort food I could want in one place, and with a name like Erin, I’m right at home!

Favorite place to hang in Everett?

Grand Ave Park

Anything else we forgot or that you'd like to mention?

My team says to tell you; I’m a foodie, I am an amateur BBQ smoker, and I have 3 dogs, Buster, Bernice and Crackalackadingdong.
