Wick-Ed Wine Social Club, Everett's New Clubhouse for Wine Lovers

I originally met Jeff Wicklund--who goes by Wick--while checking out his wine shop C. Vines inside Cafe Zippy a couple of years ago. They've since parted ways but Wick found an amazing new space downtown in the Key Bank building. The best part? It comes with a huge outdoor area along the entire south end.

The new shop is a bit of a homecoming for Wick and his wife Ed, who opened Wicked Cellars a block away in 1996. For now, the new Wick-Ed Wine shares the space with the Marquee Apartments leasing office, which will no longer be needed as the units fill up. That means the front room will double in size soon, and there's already a lovely lounge in the back.

The R&R Room will be available for wine club members to reserve, which is a great perk to an already awesome club. By joining, you contribute to Wick's buying power and get wonderful wines at a substantial discount. The best part? Members at any level get to sample all of the month's wines.

Wick held wine club tastings the first Wednesday each month at Legion Hall before the new space was secured, and the experience there was so nice that he'll continue to hold pop-up events there. Be sure to read your wine club emails to know what's happening that week. Membership also includes exclusive opportunities to attend other special events like cocktail hours and food pairings.

You don't need to be a member to enjoy this amazing new store and space. Shop hours aren't fully set yet, so call ahead and introduce yourself to Wick.

Christopher Bragg works from home in Everett and loves walking, swimming, and cats. You can find him all over town, but only if you keep weird hours and avoid crowds like he does.
