Diedrich Espresso and its Customers are Making Strides to Beat Breast Cancer

Editor’s note: the following story is about one of our Live in Everett Members. Our awesome Members help power Live in Everett. You can learn more about them here.

Jasmine Wilson, the owner of Live in Everett Member Diedrich Espresso is passionate about giving back to the community. One of her biggest passions is raising money for the American Cancer Society (ACS). She works to provide opportunities for her customers who are eager to help out. In her words, “most people can’t make big donations, but lots of small donations can make a big difference.” And her customers did just that last October when they donated close to $15,000 for ACS.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there is a big effort to raise funds for research and treatment in addition to reminding about the importance of regular screening. Regular screening is a good way to detect breast cancer in its earliest, most curable stages. If you’re due for a mammogram or need guidance on breast self-exams, contact your doctor today.

There are many ways you can help raise funds for ACS this month, but probably the easiest way is to purchase a yummy Pink Drink at Diedrich Espresso and $.50 for each drink will be donated. If you’re not into Pink Drinks, order your favorite drink and round up your change for donation or purchase reusable drinkware and 10% of your purchase will go to ACS.

If you prefer to participate in a bigger way, say a gala, grab some tickets for the 12th Annual Night of Hope Gala fundraiser for ACS on October 23rd. There are many ways to participate in the gala including the Boogie Down Experience which is an in-person event at the Delta Hotel with dinner and an auction. You can also participate remotely with an Outta Sight Experience, an online streaming option where you can bid in the live and silent auctions. A special in-between option, the Far Out Experience, includes streaming and a dinner for two from Lombardi’s Italian Restaurant.

Another way to help fundraise is to register for the ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 30th. It’s a 5k and you can sign up as an individual or recruit a team. Ask your friends and family to sponsor your efforts. It looks to be a fun event with dogs, strollers and wagons welcome. There’s a photo booth, a pink chair for selfies, and the Diedrich Espresso Mobile Truck will be on hand with drinks and treats to fuel you up for the walk.

So cheers with a Pink Drink to Diedrich Espresso and all of its wonderful customers for helping out in small ways and making a big difference. And don’t forget to get your mammogram scheduled today!
