Port of Everett Food Truck Fridays are Back

I'm an early riser and the marina is one of my favorite places to be when the sun comes up. It's one of my weekly walking destinations and I walk the whole thing every time. Recently the signs came back for Port of Everett Food Truck Fridays, and I decided it was time to check it out. While crowds and midday sunshine aren't really my jam, I've definitely been in the mood for truck food lately. It's a little more creative than restaurant dishes, but not quite as outrageous as carnival food.

Food Truck Fridays is the first of two regularly-scheduled Everett lots you can find this year via the Washington State Food Truck Association, and it runs May through September, 11:30-1:30. A second spot at City Hall is active Tuesdays and Thursdays from June through October, 11:00-2:00. Use those schedules to plan ahead; bring a friend to split stuff with, and always have a backup order in mind in case they run out of your first choice.

Or just head over. I went down on Friday and found two choices, Jimmy Peppers and Stick It or Stuff It. I chose Jimmy Peppers because I already got to split an awesome feast from Stick It or Stuff It last summer with my husband at the Arlington Fly-In, where he's a volunteer.

(By the way, if you're an aviation buff, check out the Fly-in this year. It's their 50th anniversary and they have a lot of great stuff planned.)

Thankfully my lunch buddy Kristen was free to meet me there so we both got to try two of the entrees from Jimmy Peppers, plus their amazing parmesan garlic chive fries.

Habanero bacon cheeseburger, parmesan garlic chive fries, and the "bigger than your forearm" chipotle chicken bacon ranch wrap.

We definitely left satisfied, if not overwhelmed. Kristen took most of her half of the wrap home, and I was so full that I skipped dinner. I bet this guy ended up finishing off the leftover fries that we tossed.

There's tons of parking at the marina and they set up a long row of picnic tables between the trucks, so don't worry too much about the logistics. Even if it's crowded, you can always find a spot next to the water or even hop back in your car, get a spot at Boxcar Park, and watch kites while you eat.
