Everett Beer Week is Bigger Than Ever

In 2018, Toggle’s Bottle Shop owner Danielle Lothrop spearheaded a week-long celebration of all things Everett craft beverage.

Crowning the celebration Everett Beer Week (EVBW), the festivities included a Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots tournament at The Independent Beer Bar, bike rides and lots of local craft beverages all meant to bring together Everett’s brewers, breweries and lovers of Everett beer.

This year, Everett Beer Week is super official thanks to an official proclamation by Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin’s office. The proclamation highlights Everett Beer Week’s “community benefits of craft beer tourism, local enjoyment and establishing Everett as a craft beer destination” from September 6-14.

“We’ve got more communication happening with the city and more people excited about (Everett Beer Week),” Lothrop said about the partnership with the city of Everett.

Lothrop also explained how EVBW has grown from seven venues to 12. Scuttlebutt Taproom and Brewery is one of them, and is the site of the Everett Beer Week kickoff party Friday, September 6.

The highlight of the party will be the tapping of the official Everett Beer Week Beer, brewed in collaboration with Everett breweries.

So what’s the new Everett brew going to taste like?

“I don’t know,” Lothrop said with a laugh. “It’ll be a surprise to me as well. It’s a secret beer.”

Other weeklong highlights include celebrating Middleton Brewing’s 6th Anniversary, a beer-themed art gallery and tasting at Black Lab Gallery, beer and pizza pairings at Brooklyn Bros. and a refined dinner and craft beverage pairing event at Narrative Coffee which includes a multi-course dining experience.

And yes, the Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots tournament makes a return Wednesday, September 11 at The Independent Beer Bar.

Everett Beer Week culminates with the 2nd Annual Scuttlebutt Oktoberfest, featuring seven German-style beers, food and a Bavarian band.

There’s over 20 events spread out over eight days, so be sure to check out the full list of Everett Beer Week happenings. As always, never drink (or Lime scooter) and drive and enjoy all the Everett Beer Week festivities responsibly.
