The Great Indoors: Stuff to Do in Everett When it Gets Dark at 4 PM

We all know the feeling. It’s freezing outside. Raining. And dark.

And it’s not even dinner time yet. Yes, Winter in the Northwest can be a bit dreary sometimes, especially after daylight savings hits. Thankfully, we have some wonderful options in the Everett area for life after dark. Here’s eight of my personal favs.

  1. fun Activities

Bowling (Evergreen Lanes | Glacier Lanes) Everett Skate Deck | Escape Scene Everett

Okay, I know bowling and roller skating are nothing new. But when’s the last time you laced up some skates or stylish bowling shoes and didn’t leave with a smile on your face?

Never?

That’s what I thought.

Pick up a spare and your mood all in one roll.

For something a bit more unique, Escape Scene Everett is a remarkable experience. And with no windows in the room, you’ll be far too busy solving riddles to even remember that it’s dark out!

2. Healthy Activities

Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi | Summit Everett

If you really want to go the distance, why not get active and healthy at the same time? Aside from some of our great gyms, Everett also has some awesome yoga studios. Try Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi, winner of Everett’s best yoga spot.

If you’re looking for something a bit more aggressive, try your hand at Summit Everett; Everett’s only rock climbing gym.

3. The Everett Mall

If you haven’t been to the Everett Mall in a while, stop in to stretch your legs with a good mall walk, and check out some local businesses located there.  Did you know that Home Inspirations moved to the mall from downtown last year?

4. The Everett Public Library

Did you know that starting December 1, the Everett Public Library is open until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday? Free books, movies and music galore. Not to mention they host loads of free events, concerts and workshops. All in a beautiful historic building. What’s not to love?

Check out the Northwest History Room in the Everett Public Library.

We have some stellar spots around town that constantly host events. Scuttlebutt Taproom has a great assortment from axe throwing to music festivals and more. Emory’s on Silver Lake is always a treat, with events happening nearly every night. Cafe Zippy and the Sno-Isle Food Co-op host tons of free community-centric happenings. If music is your thing, then Black Lab Gallery or Tony V’s are also great options.

Take in a comedy show at Emory’s.
Grab a coffee at Cafe Zippy.
Learn about the co-op’s B Corporation certification.
Read on about Black Lab Gallery’s impact on the local music scene.
Enjoy some laughs at the Comedy Garage, every Monday at Tony V’s.

Answer: Anywhere on the Live in Everett Trivia Guide, of course!

7. Karaoke!

Oh yeah, we got a guide for that, too.

8. Grab a show

Check out Historic Everett Theatre, Village Theatre, or Angel of Winds Arena... It’s like Netflix and chill but you’ll feel better because you actually got off the couch before turning into a potato.
