There is nothing as truly delicious as Everett in the summer. The view from Grand Avenue park of islands in the sunny mist? I could eat that for breakfast every day.

The seaside city heats up and the air is fresh.

Here's a selection of the finest of what Mill Town has to offer this beautiful summer.

Note: this isn't an exhaustive list of all the summertime jamz around town. There are plenty of things to do in this city, so stay tuned to our events calendar and Weekly Goodness Newsletter for weekly updates on what's good.

4th of July Parade & Festival

Downtown parade: 11 a.m.
Colors of Freedom Festival: 1 p.m.-11 p.m.

Patriotic civic pride with flags and floats and marching bands. It's a long-standing Everett tradition (Check out our Live in Everett TV here).

Afterward, the Colors of Freedom Festival takes place at Legion Memorial Park on the far north of the city. It's a family-friendly event with bouncy houses, food vendors and killer views. The festival ends with a dramatic firework show at 10 p.m. over the bay. This is one of the best parts of living in Everett, IMHO.

Jetty Island Days

July 5-September 2

Take a ferry to a big manmade island. Jetty Island is good for swimming, sun, and amazing views (kiteboarding, too, if you're a boss bro). This is the quintessential Everett summer experience. I go every year because it's just so nice.

There are a lot of logistics around getting to the island, so before you go be sure to check out the Jetty Island website here.

2019 Schedule:

Mon.-Thurs. 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Fri.-Sat. 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
