First Look: Farms & Market

Minute Reads_1 or 2 minute.png

Farms & Market is coming early next year. Here's the scoop.

After almost two years of stalled construction, the project is again underway. The development is under new management with the space scheduled to open in early 2018.

Farms & Market is to be a year-round artisan food market offering access to regional produce sourced from local farms. They will offer prepared meals to go as well as a sit down restaurant.

Farms & Market will fill over 7,000 square feet and serve as the anchor tenant in the Grand Avenue Marketplace, which will occupy the ground floor of Potala Place.

They'll be neighbors with our one of our favorite spots, French bakery Choux Choux

Farms & Market is being developed by The Carlin Company, a developer of "artisan food markets." These markets aim to connect communities directly to farmers, ranchers, and local food purveyors. The Carlin Company has built similar marketplaces in San Fransisco, Napa Valley, and Northern California.

Here are some preliminary sketches of the space, as done by our friend Elizabeth Person.
