Film Festival Brings Indie Films, Documentaries and More to Milltown

The Everett Film Festival is coming soon. Mark your calendars.

The annual event is held at the Everett Performing Arts Center where the attendees can view a curated selection of international films, animated shorts, indie movies, documentaries, and more.

Highlights from this year's lineup are "Into the Forest" which stars Ellen Page in a post-apocalyptic psychological thriller. Also, there's a locally-produced documentary called "Quest for the Lost Paintings of Siberia" which follows Camano Island artist Jack Gunter as he searches Russian basements (and Siberian outhouses!) for his own missing paintings.

"Missed Connection" is an animated short.

The festival features live music, filmmaker presentations, and food from several Everett restaurants including J & L Barbecue, Choux Choux Bakery, Karl's BakeryMajor League Pizza, Cafe Wylde and more.

At $30 a night or $50 for a weekend pass (and lots of grub included) it's a screaming deal.

Teresa Henderson, director of the film festival says that the viewing experience is worth the price of admission.

"Sitting in a local theater, a group of people laughing together— the energy is wonderful, a communal experience. It's not like sitting at home alone with your cat," she quips.
