Meet Everett PD's Embedded Social Worker

  • Everett Public Library - Main 2702 Hoyt Avenue Everett, WA, 98201 United States (map)

Sergeant Mike Braley and Social Workers Staci McCole and Kaitlyn Dowd will be on hand to providing an overview of what the social workers do within the Community Outreach and Enforcement Team. The Everett Police Department's new, innovative Embedded Social Worker program was implemented from recommendations that came out of the Community Streets Initiative task force.

"Embedded social workers accompany the Everett Police Community Outreach and Enforcement Team out in the community. Social workers help individuals on the street navigate the often-complicated treatment and housing systems and connect them with the resources they need. The social workers cultivate contacts and establish positive relationships among various law enforcement agencies, treatment providers, service organizations, faith-based groups and local governments."

Thanks to the Everett Police Department for supporting this opportunity for the public to get to hear from the embedded social workers, who will talk and answer questions about their jobs and the services they provide. Please note: as this is an informational session, attendees will not have an opportunity to sign up for social services at this event.
