Independent Film: "Eat Drink Man Woman"

  • Everett Public Library - Evergreen Branch 9512 Evergreen Way Everett, WA, 98204 United States (map)

Join us for a screening and discussion of "Eat Drink Man Woman" (Ang Lee, 1994).

Long before "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," and "Brokeback Mountain," Ang Lee was nominated for best feature, director, screenplay, male lead, and female lead Independent Spirit Awards in this sweet, yet unflinching look at the love, conflicts, and delicious meals shared by a Chinese family.

Unrated, 124 min. In French and Mandarin with English subtitles.

This screening is part of the Evergreen Cinema Society's Independent Spirits Film Series, a yearlong celebration of contemporary classics from the film awards founded in 1984 to celebrate independent film production and provide an antidote to the Oscar.
