Featuring Port Gardner
This month Live in Everett moved to our new offices in the Port Gardner neighborhood.
I gotta say, I love this neighborhood. If I was planning to buy a home in Everett I would look to Port Gardner.
It’s one of the the oldest parts of the city, has a strong neighborhood association, and offers stunning views of mountains, the city, and the bay.
Port Gardner residents can walk to the Soundview Bar and Grill, the Anchor Pub, or J Ramen and Sushi (all excellent places to get a drink IMHO).
The Longfellow District, in central Port Gardner, is named after the historic school near the Everett Memorial Stadium. It's fun to pop down to the stadium in summer to catch an Aquasox home game.
The northern boundary of the Port Gardner neighborhood is Hewitt Avenue. Some of the newest and best spots in Everett are here: Cafe Wylde, Toggle's, The New Mexicans, Port Gardner Bay Winery, Brews Almighty, and Choux Choux are the new face of downtown Everett.
Your best bet is to go walk west down the south side of Hewitt on a Saturday afternoon and discover the neighborhood for yourself. Detour to the Schack Art Center to buy an original work of art. If you have kids you'll want to visit the Imagine Children's Museum on Hoyt.
Bring your allowance, pace yourself, and be prepared to call an Uber: good times await the curious explorer of the Port Gardner neighborhood.
