Warm up your holidays, Celtic style, with Abigail Lennox and the Beggar Boys! Admission is $20, $15 for seniors (65+), and children under 12 free. Advance purchase is recommended, and tickets can be purchased online at here.
The concert will feature Christmas music from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, including old and new carols, foot-stomping dance tunes, sing-alongs, as well as a few originals. Larry Young will tell one of his celebrated Christmas stories, and there will be live Irish Step Dancing courtesy of Seattle’s Tara Academy of Irish Dance. The audience will also have a chance to join in some Scottish social dances.
The Beggar Boys were founded on the north shore of Boston in 2001, and have since performed across the country, bringing their energetic mix of Celtic traditional music styles to audiences young and old. Recently, they were featured on National Public Radio’s syndicated holiday special A Carolina Christmas from Biltmore Estate with Kathy Mattea. The band’s lineup includes Michael Albert on fiddle, Irish flute, and vocals; Larry Young on fiddle, baritone fiddle, and vocals; Henry Lebedinsky on guitar and bouzouki; and Abigail Lennox singing lead vocals and playing bodhrán (Irish frame drum). This program is family-friendly, and nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
