South Fork Baking Co. Has Cozy Waterfront Vibes

Rain falls on a December day in the Pacific Northwest. You crave the warmth of a cozy bakery.

Enter South Fork Baking Co., a new and vibrant establishment at the Everett Marina, situated next to the recently arrived Fisherman Jack’s. Adjacent to these new establishments are Hotel Indigo, Scuttlebutt Brewing, Bluewater, and The Muse. This collection of easily accessible waterfront attractions would astonish anyone familiar with Everett's post-industrial era of corrugated tin shacks.

Step into South Fork, and you'll find a bright, modern, and minimalistic atmosphere that instantly soothes. Picture a fresh twist on the familiar boho chic style: white subway tiles, trailing pathos plants atop blonde wood shelves, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a gleaming espresso machine. Add to this a captivating mural showcasing the artistry of local talent Rosemary Jones. Feeling the winter blues? Here’s your remedy.

With a rollaway door, you can glimpse the promise of balmy spring and summer days. The outdoor patio becomes an ideal spot to savor an iced Americano while observing yachts gently swaying in the harbor. Summer days in Everett—a welcome anticipation!

Beyond the expected array of freshly baked goods like croissants, cookies, and muffins, South Fork surprises with a variety of vegan options, from in-house-made patties to take-away soup. Topo Chico and Fulcrum Coffee cold brew are on offer, as well as Silver Cup Coffee, a local brew roasted in Georgetown by Fulcrum Coffee.

During a weekday visit with my wife and daughter, the staff’s kindness towards my child left a positive impression. The cappuccino was flawlessly dry, though regrettably, the vegan bagel shared a similar dry fate. Yet, I applaud the bakery for crafting a fresh vegan patty rather than relying on the frozen textured vegetable protein soy puck. Kudos on that front.

My daughter enthusiastically described the chocolate muffin with chocolate chips as a delightful, "yummy" melt-in-your-mouth experience. Perfect!

In summary, South Fork stands as a reliable bakery with exceptional espresso along the walkable Everett Waterfront, just a short stroll from the pedestrian bridge connecting residential Everett to the waterfront. It's the latest addition to a series of charming seaside establishments enhancing our beloved city, making it an even more appealing place to live and explore.

This winter, get your cozy on at South Fork Baking Co.! A little white flour and caffeine is what you need to make the season bright.
