Worth Leaving Town For: No Cookie Crumbles Like Crumbl Cookies
I won’t lie, when Kylie McDonald first hit us up back in March of 2021 to check out her new cookie shop in Marysville (Smokey Point), I was mostly just in it for the free cookies.
Fast forward six-plus months later, and dagnabbit if I’m not still craving those things on the regular. I literally cannot go near Smokey Point without thinking about them. Heck, I’ll randomly think about them no matter where I am. They’re that delicious.

Of course, grouping all of Crumbl’s cookies together with such blanket statements is a slight simplification. Most of Crumbl’s cookies you can rarely ever get.
That’s part of the fun.
Crumbl only bakes two ‘regulars' on a consistent basis: their chocolate chip cookie and their sugar cookie. Only four other rotating flavors are available each week. And with over 150 flavors total, you never know when your favorite specialty flavor will be back. It could be a year or more.

What Crumbl’s menu lacks in consistency, they make up for with the consistency of their goods. Crumbl’s cookies (and frosting when applicable) are the perfect density. Not too firm. Not too soft. They’re juuuuuuuuust right. And always oh so fresh.
Of the 10 or so flavors I’ve tried so far, the more chocolate-centric ones have been my favorite. The pink frosting sugar cookie types are a bit too sweet for me.
However, one recent drool-worthy flavor that struck the balance was their churro cookie. Better than an actual churro, this guy was on the sweet side but I couldn’t help going back for more.

I’ve noticed that general trend with Crumbl Cookies. They’re a pretty good size, so I usually will just eat part of one and then save the rest for later. Or so I tell myself. But trust me, once you’ve taken a bite of one of these delicious wonders, they’re hard to resist eating more of.
The other recent flavor I tried was their peanut butter M&M cookie. This one went down so smooth I could hardly put it down. Pour a glass of milk with this thing and just try and not finish it. I dare you! I thought the peanut butter would make it too rich, but nope. Crumbl nailed it again.
Well, I’d recommend both of these flavors, but as I mentioned, you never know what the flavor of the week will be. Next time you’re heading north you’ll just have to stop by for yourself.
