Trend Hair Society: One-Stop Shop for Your Beauty Needs

“I love, LOVE what I do”, the owner of Trend Hair Society recently told me. Natasha Drake has been cutting hair since 2007; a few years ago a friend of hers encouraged her to open her own salon. In October 2019 she incorporated her business and started building out her dream salon in a little slice of retail space on the east end of Hewitt named Trend Hair Society. Natasha is a wife, mother, stylist, and now a very proud salon owner. And she has a lot to be proud of.

Trend’s doors opened July 1st, 2021 with a capacity for 14 stylists, two estheticians, one lash artist, one massage therapist, and one Hellerworker. As of March 2022, Trend’s stations will be at full capacity.

The list of services offered is wide, which makes keeping a menu challenging, here is the list in a nutshell: lash services, facials, sugaring, massage, Hellerwork, waxing, and with 14 stylists, if you have a wild hair to make your hair wild, one of the stylists will be more than happy to oblige.

I bet you are wondering: “but is she going to tell us what in the heller Hellerwork is??” Yes, I will, to the best of my inexperienced ability. Hellerwork is a style of bodywork that is intended to whip your fascia into shape. Fascia is the thin connective tissues that essentially hold us together and Hellerwork is employed to loosen those tissues, bringing you back into alignment. We could all benefit from better alignment.

Fresh, crisp and chic // Rachel Weatherholt

The salon is fresh and crisp with chic, modern interior. There are many live plants and the decor leans toward comforting greens and golds. The hair washing station is adorned in a beautifully patterned wallpaper with simple yet gorgeous black tiles. They offer soft hassocks to put your feet up on while getting shampooed. There are even beverages and refreshments available.

My boyfriend and I are regular visitors to Trend and the shop is always clean and fresh when we visit. The vibe is very welcoming and the stylists get on like family; you can tell they all love what they do and they generate good energy.

Close to downtown but with easy access to and from Highway 2 and I-5, Trend is convenient from wherever you are coming or going to. There is plenty of free street parking but there is also a tiny, narrow parking lot along the side of the building.
