The 2024 Seagaze Festival, sponsored by KEXP and DKFM
opens in Everett a week before the Tractor Tavern in Seattle on the weekend of March 29th-30th
Shoegaze’s blurry guitars and beautiful noise are enjoying unprecedented popularity. Thanks to TikTok (et al), a new generation of fans is discovering shoegaze’s transcendent squall of guitars and walls of sound. “Shoegaze was everywhere this year” (Pitchfork) and is “bigger than ever” (Stereogum). Seattle’s Seagaze Festival, as the Northwest’s first and longest-running shoegaze, post-punk, and psych rock festival, is once again way ahead of the game, with carefully curated, stellar lineups of under-the-radar bands in intimate venues. Since its debut in 2016, the not-for-profit festival has showcased compelling and eclectic performances by bands from the Pacific Northwest, the US, and abroad, with the mission of supporting and promoting bands in shoegaze, post-punk, and psych rock. This year’s Seagaze Festival will take place on April 5-6 at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle as well as two nights in Everett with Jupe Jupe, Dead Eneregy, Funeral Homes, Society of the Silver Cross, Blackpool Astronomy, Licorice Chamber, Replicas and Sun Tunnels and DJ Activate at Black Lab Gallery on March 29th and March 30th.

Mission and Impact
Seagaze strives to support both established and up-and-coming bands in shoegaze, post-punk, and psych-rock. Many bands and artists have benefitted from the attention they received from being part of the festival, and bands have the opportunity to connect with like-minded artists from across the country and the world. The festival also serves a valuable role in creating community and growing the audience for shoegaze, post-punk, and psych-rock, all of which are enjoying a major resurgence worldwide. The Seagaze Festival strongly values community and representation, and it strives to build a community of artists who promote and support each other while also helping to build their audiences.
