Summer is over, which means all the fun Everett events are either over or soon to be finished (goodbye Everett Farmers Market and Music at the Marina 😢). But don't doom yourself to a bunch of boring date nights because of the chilly weather, embrace the fall season with a few of these Everett-centric date ideas.

1. Enjoy the Sights on a Fall Walk, Cost: 0-$

It's the time of year when all the trees are looking gorgeous, and stress from impending holidays is starting to creep in. Grab a hot beverage from one of your favorite coffee joints and take a walk around one of Everett's scenic beauties.

I suggest a strong, black brew or the Lil Punkin’ from Narrative Coffee. Or maybe try something new and get a drink from Café Makario on Colby Ave.

Evergreen Cemetery (because it's that time of year!)
4504 Broadway St.

2. Board Games and Chill, Cost: $-$$

Whether you've got a bunch of board games hiding in a closet somewhere, or you proudly display your gaming collection, grab a few games and head to the Independent Beer Bar or the Loft Coffee Bar to play a hardy game of Settlers. Both locations have good tables for games, and have a wide variety of drinks to sip on while you play the night away.

My husband and I like to play board games at coffee shops a lot. We're playing Firefly Fluxx here, because we're nerds. #noshame

Want a board game that's actually fun to play with two people? Might I suggest perusing the games section of local book store Wishes (located in the Everett mall). They have a HUGE stock of games at the back of the store. Good two person games include: 7 Wonders Duel ($27), Codenames Duet ($20), or any version of Fluxx (~$10-$15).

3. Everett Skate Deck, Cost: $-$$

It's the nostalgia, you know? Skip skating with the kids (or tripping over them) and enjoy adult only skate time (nothing risque, just adults) Friday and Saturday nights. 18 and older only except for the 21+ lounge.

If you don't mind chilling with the kiddos, open skate is Friday 7:30-10:30 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday 12:30-4:30 p.m.

4. Escape Scene Everett, Cost: $$-$$$

Up for a challenge? Test your minds at Escape Scene, an escape room puzzle experience where you and your team try to solve the mystery around you with clues and goals throughout the room. Don't worry, this isn't a haunted house with terror and madness; just good ol' fashioned mystery. Ooooo ahhhhh.

It's $30 per person, but if you make it out "alive" you get a fancy trophy proving your smarts.

1313 Hewitt Ave.

5. Village Theatre, Cost: $$-$$$

The Village Theatre has two great shows coming up that are sure to make a night on the town more entertaining.

Starting October 25 and running through November 17, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (it’s a play and not an actual spelling bee) is hitting the stage at the Everett Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $70 each, but rest assured that these are top notch shows with pro actors and voices well worth the ticket price.
