Mush Love: Black Forest Mushrooms Launches ‘Buy One, Give One’ Initiative

Editor’s note: We're ecstatic to share about Live in Everett’s newest member, Black Forest Mushrooms, and their latest community initiative.

Sorry if this sounds mushy, but February got a bit lovelier.

If you’ve been thinking about trying gourmet mushrooms, you now have the perfect excuse.

Black Forest Mushrooms, Everett’s newest purveyor of all things gourmet mushrooms, has launched a ‘buy one, give one’ initiative.

For the entire month of February, Black Forest Mushrooms Mush Love Initiative will match every pound of mushrooms sold by donating a pound of fresh gourmet mushrooms to local food banks.

As Black Forest says, “Let’s spread the spores of love.”

Local partners benefiting from Mush Love include Snohomish and Lake Stevens Community Food Banks, Snohomish Healing Project, Housing Hope, and Hope Creek Charitable Foundation.

“This initiative, launched shortly after our grand opening, is our way of cultivating a healthy community that has welcomed us so warmly,” Black Forest shared.

Not big on fresh mushrooms? Not to worry. Black Forest Mushrooms is also including other variations of their products to count towards the Mush Love initiative, including:

  • Mushroom Jerky

  • BFM Dried Mushroom Products

  • Lion’s Mane Powder

  • Grow Kits

 Big goals

We adore Black Forest Mushrooms partly because of their love for cultivating healthy communities and the intentional ways they show up and show up big!

Through the Mush Love initiative, Black Forest Mushrooms aims to donate 6,000 pounds of fresh gourmet mushrooms to Everett and the surrounding community. Black Forest is hoping to donate thousands of pounds of healthy goodness to our neighbors in need, and they’ve even created a redemption system for their partners so that each respective non-profit can redeem a portion of their mushroom donation throughout the year.

How’s that for spreading the spores of love?

And if you’re anything like us and pretty new to the world of gourmet mushrooms in general, Black Forest has been hosting awesome events with lots of opportunities to get in the adventure.

From a weekly mushroom happy hour to mushroom yoga, mushroom farm tours, and more. Black Forest isn’t joking with their tagline, “Where adventure spawns.” You can check out Black Forest Mushroom’s event page here.
