Why Buy In Everett?

The better question is, why buy in Seattle?

Okay, okay, if you're a $200k/year google employee, I get why you would buy in Seattle.

Most of us need to make our dollars go a little further, though. Especially if you work in the North end, Everett has some awesome attributes worth considering. Here's just a couple reasons why:

Seattle's average home price last month: $631k (source: NWMLS)
Everett's average home price last month: $342k (source: NWMLS)

Buying a home in Seattle is 85% more expensive than buying in Everett. As inspector gadget would say, "wowzers!" Plus, Everett is only 28 miles North of Seattle; so not too far of a jaunt.

Obviously, Everett and Seattle offer different pros and cons. Seattle has tons going on and is extremely established. The upside for Everett is less traffic, free parking, and being able to be a part of all of the awesome changes currently happening.

Not only is Everett currently expanding and thriving with new awesomeness (Potala Market, Bluewater Distillery, Crucible Brewing, etc.) There are also loads of events happening all the time. And lots more planned for the near future including: Waterfront Place, riverfront development, Grand Ave footbridge, and more.

Oh, and the fact that homes in Everett are nearly half as expensive as they are in Seattle doesn't hurt either. Not only that, but there are some fantastic neighborhoods in Everett. Whether you like a walkable community, jaw-dropping views, or urban living, Everett has something for everyone.
